Born and bred in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Rik is a 1960's graduate of the Haddonfield Conservatory of Music and Westmont School of Music. Rik began his musical training at the early age of seven when his father taught him the piano. Three years later at the age of ten he moved on to his first love - the guitar and he studied percussion at age eleven. It wasn't until his twenties that Rik discovered his hidden vocal prowess.
Influenced early by rock and roll greats such as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly & Chuck Berry, it was after the "British Invasion" and the arrival of legends like the Beatles, Beck, Clapton, Page and Hendrix that Rik's musical genius began to surface. His music making has the mark of originality and inspiration, all the more noteworthy for his youth. He recorded his first album for CAMCO RECORDS in July, 1971 at the age of eighteen. Primarily a rock artist, Rik also plays blues and folk music.
Rik has recorded and toured nationally. His most favorably received appearances in the cities of New York, Philadelphia, Tampa and Miami are awaiting return engagements. Rik has recorded ten albums and a single to date (1971 - 1996) and is a consummate guitarist, gifted singer-songwriter plus accomplished recording engineer and producer as well with over one hundred recordings to his credit.
