Dr. Duck, Just letting you know I received the Dobro strings recently won on the E-bay auction. I have tried them on my two guitars, one is a Dobro model HD-60 and the other is a custom built guitar. The strings had a different effect on these two instruments. My Dobro has never had any real punch to it no matter how I had set it up. Your strings gave it more of the sound I have been trying to achieve. I will probably play that guitar more. My custom guitar has always sounded great. With the addition of your strings, it has more sustain than it had before and maybe a little more volume. You have a great product in your Dobro strings. I have 6 Illinois State Dobro titles with at least as many runner-up titles and have used about every type of strings on the market. I believe yours are the best.

Dr. Duck...I love these strings of yours, and ... I have made them my primary strings and own many guitars, and change strings often!

You probably don't want to tell me who manufactures them but I am wondering if they are GHS Boomers or rollerwounds... I haven't looked that carefully but they look like theirs. Certainly no shame in private labeling as I wouldn't expect you to invest in the manufacturing capability yourself. What I love is the gauge mix... it is just exactly balanced to my taste as a jazz player. Slightly heavier on the top and bottom and less so in the middle strings. The wound and unwound G is also a nice touch and perfect for me, as I alternate. So I'm a convert, even if you probably couldn't convince me very easily that there is something inherently different about the strings themselves.... is there???? - Thanks again! ... John Zweig

Hey my name is Little Ray I am a well established blues guitarist in Houston Tx . I normally use D"addario 11 thru 49 they have been my string for the last 12 years. Hi, thought I`d take this time to comment on your strings. I`m a working club musician, I play blues in Portland OR, 4 to 6 nights a week, 4 hours a night. I put your strings on 6 guitars, and have gigged with three of them so far. I`ve used Ernie Ball strings for 30 years, tried other brands, and always came back. I must say that I really am impressed with your strings. I noticed right away that they seem "easier to bend".......more rubbery.....if that`s a word.....and that they maintained their new sound and feel longer than I`m used to. So far, I`m sold.......I`ve played them on a Brian Moore Les Paul, a G&L Asat III, a Fernandes revival strat, and love them on all three. Usually, I`d go through more guitars in this time frame, (I get bored, so usually play a different guitar every night), but the Brian Moore feels so good with your strings on it that I`ve found it hard to put down. I`m a diehard strat player, so, to play the LP style guitar this long, is something out of the ordinary.

I`ve been looking for cheaper strings, as I break a lot. Your`s haven`t broken on me yet, so I`m still waiting to see their useable lifespan (for me). I`ve recently tried one of the bulk string companies, where you buy them unpackaged, and I was very disapointed in those, they started breaking on the second night. I have been playing a walnut R.Q. Jones Resophonic guitar for 28 years, I have tried many strings with basically the same results, they sound good for a few hours then the 3rd string begins to fade away and I have to change strings long before the the other 5 are gone NOT SO with Dr.Ducks. Actually, I have already tried the 9+ strings. That's what led me to purchase a dozen sets (and what a bargain!!!). I purchased your "4th of July Special" with the Axewax, cloths, winder, and two sets of strings. I can't say enough about the quality and value of this custom set of strings. I've been using them on a pair of Telecasters (one with a Bigsby). Both have maple fretboards. These strings really bend nicely and consistantly stay in tune. The sound is clear and clean. The feel of the strings is smooth and they produce no "squeeking" as you move up and down the neck. So far, I'd say they last about twice as long as the Ernie Ball custom set I was previously using. I'm happy to report that there is no reason for me to use any other string now that I've been "IN-DUCK-TRINATED." Thanks so much for the note and the incredible service. I'll be back.

Dr. Duck, - I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know I tried out the Electric 9-42s that you sent me last night. I'm not sure why, but the darned things play better than the other strings I've tried. This includes D'addario XL120 and XL120+, Markley Blue Steel, GHS boomers, Fender Bullets and Super Bullets and Ernie Ball Slinkies. I had pretty much settled on the D'addario XL120+, and have been using them almost exclusively for a couple of months now.

Possibly the winding wire is a smaller diameter? Maybe the nickel alloy is just different? What ever the reason, the wound wires seems smoother and they all seem "pluckier". (Is that a word?)

Now your strings on the other hand... I opened the pack vigorously to string up my newly prepped Crafter (with Axe Wax of course) and grabbed the sixth string and started to put it in the whole on the bridge of the Crafter and it would not go in all the way (the bridge is very similar that of an Ovation - No Bridge Pins). The string was wound too much around the ball, to my chagrin I had to make a decision. So I took out my nineteen year old Alvarez Yairi that was just strung with Elixirs and removed the Elixirs and strung it up with the Ducks Deluxe 12's. To my surprise the Ducks had the playability of the Elixirs but with the tone of Martin SPs. Great JOB - DOC!

Greetings! I have already used your strings, on a Michael Dunn "mystery pacific" guitar, which is a hand made Maccaferri style with internal sound chamber. These are somewhat cranky guitars to string, but produce a magnificent sound. I had a set of Dr Ducks light guage 11-50 supplied by luthier Steve Helgeson of Moonstone Guitars, when he did some fret work for me. I was very impressed by the strings...I am a professional musician (35 years of same) so I have tried endless kinds of strigs over the years on many different guitars.

"DR. Duck I'm Joan's husband. Mike! I purchased your string's through her ebay account. This is my second purchase. I play an R- model, Mahogany bodied Dobro custom built by Paul Beard. It has a very rich mellow sound with good volume. When he set it up he recommended using his name brand string's to maintain this sound. Over the last couple year's I have purchased several different brand's of string's to test his theory and he has been right until I purchased your string's . I'll be honest with you I placed a bid for them on a whim with the thought that I would give them a try and probably give them away or throw them in the junk box. Steve from Klamath Falls here. Glad to find you eBaying your products. I was just telling Ralph Payette that I have been and Ernie Ball, Super Slinky since the early 1970's, maybe event the late 60's and I've never had a string out perform my beloved Super Slinkies like yours. I am still playing with the first set I bought from you on my Les Paul and have a set on my new Start that I have been pounding on for two months (I am a Jeff Beck influenced Start player so I whammy a lot) and there is almost no distinguishable tone or sustain loss. The Dr' Duck's oil is amazing at how clean it keeps the strings with my acid skin oils and sweat and I love the feel of my guitars after using it.

Super products man, you should be proud of yourself. The only down side is this set of 12 is probably going to last me till I die of old age and even after using some of the oil on my antique coffee table, the wood sides of my vintage synths, all of the guitars at church and all four of my guitars (including the occasional accidental spillage) I still have 4/5's of a bottle left. I think I'll just change the strings a lot anyway so I can keep buying and help you stay in business.

I'd like to give some feedback about these strings. I'm very happy with them :o)

The sound is pretty smooth and full with basic settings (which is nice IMHO), but can get crispy & clear when needed !

Our soundman said that he's never heard better sound on bass than mine at the moment. My gear is G&L Tribute L2500 and Yorkville Bassmaster XM200 amp with Yorkville XC115X extension cab.

Thank you for these strings - i'll be buying more of these, when all current strings are worn out.

Hi again from South Australia....the box of goodies arrived yesterday all safe and well. I cleaned my Strat with the polish and then put on the strings. The guitar came up incredibly well...it really did put a new look into a somewhat tired guitar. I use this Strat to play 60's instrumentals (mainly tunes from the English group "The Shadows") and I thought these strings sounded full and authentic...I am very pleased. And to think you sent not one set but two as part of my package!!! It is hard to find service like that these days.
